Summary

Sasuke's arrival, met with lingering distrust from his former classmates, still finds the regrouped Rookie Nine bracing for the coming assault on the Ten-Tails. Boxed in by a fresh barrier, the beast starts winding up another Tailed Beast Ball only to be locked down, leaving many fighters astonished at the might of the resurrected Hokage. Hashirama capitalises on the moment, conjuring five wood clones: four to spearhead the alliance's counterstrike and one to hold off Madara, who elects to bide his time until the true Hashirama is free. As the barrier briefly lifts, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and their comrades pour in against the beast's spawned duplicates.

Charging ahead, Sakura reflects on all the times her teammates shielded her and her wish to finally stand alongside them. Recalling the day she became Tsunade's pupil, she pours out three years' worth of banked chakra to draw on a tremendous reserve of strength, catching Naruto and Sasuke off guard. Hashirama is impressed and Shizune marvels at the control such a feat demands. When Sakura lowers her guard for a moment, the techniques of Naruto and Sasuke cover her, and with both of them at her side she realises, with real joy, that she has caught up to them at last.

Notes

The chapter falls within the Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax storyline and was collected in the sixty-sixth volume. Viz Media titled it A United Front. Readers noted an art inconsistency: Kiba's cheek markings vanish when he vows to become Hokage, though they were restored in the tankobon printing.
