Summary

Baffled that the Hokage can wander around so casually, Kawaki trails after Naruto on his errands. At a taiyaki stand the pair run into Sarada, and Kawaki, who has never grasped the notion of treats, fumbles over choosing a flavor before stubbornly ignoring her advice. His temper keeps boiling over, first when he snaps at Sarada for wanting a bite of his snack, then when a running child collides with him and he nearly transforms his arm to strike, forcing Naruto to hold him back and scold him for his prickliness.

Key Events

The group reaches the Yamanaka flower shop, where Naruto quietly warns Ino that enemies are hunting him and requests that the sensing unit stay alert. Told to replace the vase he broke, Kawaki eventually settles on one he thinks suits Naruto's home, but the sight of the flower stems drags him back to the tubes and Jigen of his captivity. His Kama begins to activate as panic seizes him, and Naruto pulls him into an embrace, promising that he is safe now.

Notes

On the way out, Sarada offers Kawaki her backing, linking it to her own goal of one day leading the village. Back home, Boruto sees straight through Naruto's cover story and simply hands over glue to mend the broken vase. Beyond the walls, Koji Kashin walks into Konoha undetected despite the Yamanaka-run sensing network, telling Delta to wait while he goes to fetch Kawaki.
