With shinobi and jutsu closing in on the two Uchiha, Madara grasps that the Alliance has picked them out as targets, noting such a move would require halting the Ten-Tails first. A tremendous shockwave scatters the attackers, and the beast, now further grown, hauls itself from the crater. As medics rush to the wounded, Shikaku, Inoichi, Ao and others weigh the shifting state of the fight.

Struggling to keep the creature reined in, Obito and Madara draw on Hashirama's cells to tighten their command, agreeing it is time to break the Allied Shinobi Forces with true despair. The beast unleashes a Tailed Beast Ball that Kitsuchi redirects with Earth Release beneath it. A second bursts over a lake, a third wipes out a whole town at once, and a fourth, Shikaku realizes, is streaking toward headquarters itself.

When Inoichi asks for orders, Shikaku answers that they can only carry out their assignments to the last moment. For what looks like the final time, Inoichi links him to the entire Alliance so the Nara strategist can pass along his closing plan. On the field, Madara gloats that the ball has struck home, calling it a basic tactic to remove the enemy's head.
