Chapter 678 reveals the world ensnared by the Infinite Tsukuyomi, with only Team 7 spared. As Sasuke steps into command, a triumphant Madara declares himself the world's savior, only for Black Zetsu to betray him and expose the true will driving events: Kaguya's.
The genjutsu has swept across the entire world, leaving Team 7 as the sole exceptions. Sakura wants to understand what is unfolding beyond the shield of Susanoo, but Sasuke waves her off, saying she would make no difference either way. Kakashi rebukes his tone, only to be told that without his Sharingan he is no more useful than she is. Naruto adds his own scolding, yet Kakashi privately concludes that it is right for Sasuke to guide them through this crisis.
Sasuke explains that undoing the technique cast over everyone would most likely require a Rinnegan. Glimpses of various shinobi lost in their dreams appear, and as the moon's glow dims, Team 7 steps out from Susanoo's cover, proving Black Zetsu's suspicion that they had escaped the genjutsu. Before Zetsu can act, Madara arrives in triumph, proclaiming himself the Saviour of this World and vowing to stop them from wrecking the peace he forged. As the group condemns his hollow peace, Black Zetsu stuns everyone by driving his left hand through Madara's chest. Zetsu reveals that he has always carried the will of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki rather than Madara's, and to the Uchiha's horror, that same impaling hand begins to transform him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
A minor art error leaves the tomoe absent from Sasuke's Rinnegan during his exchange with Kakashi inside Susanoo, a slip left uncorrected in the collected edition. A full-color rendition of the chapter accompanied the digital release of the 2014 issue in which it first ran. Part of the Kaguya Ōtsutsuki Strikes arc, it was collected in the seventieth volume under the Japanese title Ore no Ishi wa.
