
Naruto arrives back at Konoha in Sage Mode with a force of toads, only to discover the entire village leveled by Pain. He immediately confronts the Six Paths, destroys the Asura Path to shield an exhausted Tsunade, and declares himself Pain's one and only target.
Naruto, holding his Sage Mode along with a strike force of toads, drops into the heart of Konoha. Nothing looks familiar until the Hokage Rock comes into view, and only then does he grasp that Pain has flattened the entire village. Scattered survivors begin pulling themselves together while the Six Paths of Pain turn back toward the ruins to meet the newcomer.
Though spent from shielding the villagers against the Deva Path's assault, Tsunade steps forward to face Pain. The Asura Path, brought back to working order by the Naraka Path, moves to cut her down, but Naruto destroys it before it can. He then declares to Pain that he alone is the intended enemy and orders the rest of Konoha to stay clear of the coming fight.
