Summary
On its way to rendezvous with Itachi, Hebi stumbles onto one of Naruto's shadow clones. Sasuke wipes it out, yet the destruction only lets Naruto and the other Konoha ninja lock onto their trail. Meanwhile in Amegakure, Jiraiya dispatches one captured ninja back toward Konoha and puppeteers the second to scout through the village.
Konan spots him and reports Jiraiya's arrival to Pain, who instructs her to kill the toad sage if she can manage it before he reaches them. Konan steps in to confront Jiraiya and frees the Ame ninja he had under his sway. Caught off guard at the sight of her, Jiraiya notes how much she has grown.
