Word that Sakura has slipped away to confront Sasuke sends Kakashi after her while a bedridden Naruto plots his own escape. Sakura's plan carries her straight into Sasuke's path at the moment he turns on an ally of his own.
Naruto comes to and hears that Kakashi has left to intercept Sakura. He wants to give chase but Yamato blocks him, so he pretends to settle back down for rest and instead quietly slips out. Elsewhere, Sakura overpowers Sai and the rest of her escort. Sai manages to warn Kakashi of what she has done before collapsing.
Tobi urges Sasuke to stay clear of Konoha, warning that his eyesight is nearing failure, and suggests he be rid of Karin. Once Tobi departs, Sasuke moves to end Karin's life.
