The former village leaders say their goodbyes, handing the shinobi world over to the generation still standing. With the tailed beasts pondering where to go next, Hagoromo notes that a sliver of each one's chakra now rests inside Naruto, letting them speak with one another using him as a kind of gathering place, and he asks Kurama to keep watch over it. He then presses Naruto and Sasuke on whether their outlooks have shifted since defeating his mother, Kaguya. Naruto reflects that his own mother, Kushina, was genuinely kind, whereas Kaguya struck him as someone who never possessed a heart at all. Hagoromo counters that Kaguya was once cherished as a benevolent goddess and only twisted after consuming the God Tree's Chakra Fruit, reassuring Naruto that carrying every beast's chakra will not corrupt him the same way. Turning to the task ahead, Hagoromo says the Infinite Tsukuyomi can be broken by uniting Naruto's beast chakra with Sasuke's Rinnegan. Before they can act, Sasuke stuns everyone by announcing he intends to kill the five Kage first. He locks all nine tailed beasts under his control before Kakashi can even respond. He imprisons the beasts with Chibaku Tensei and reveals his revolution. Naruto steps forward to settle their rivalry once and for all.
