Steaming Danger Tyranny!!

The allied troops watch the vapor overhead cool into falling hail, and Ōnoki explains that the high altitude is what turns the mist to ice. That same steam gathers into the figure of a boy, a clone that darts around Gaara's sand with ease. The Tsuchikage urges Gaara to ignore the decoy and go straight for the Mizukage himself, weakened by the technique. A sensor pinpoints the reanimated Kage while the clone tears through everyone in its path and reinforcements rush in. Ōnoki's ailing back keeps slowing him. Gaara again wraps the Mizukage in sand, but the sealing crew is cut off when the clone shreds their tags. Emerging from the sand, the Mizukage taunts that oil renders the sand useless and refuses further hints from Ōnoki, arguing that anyone who cannot beat him unaided stands no chance against those who summoned him. He voices open disappointment in Gaara before the clone detonates once more.

Naruto, Temari, and others hurry toward the battlefield as Gaara's protective barrier shields the allies. When Gaara strikes, the clone slips his sand again and smashes what turns out to be a sand double. The real Gaara rises from the earth and finally snares the clone, catching the Mizukage off guard. The clone bursts, yet this time the sand simply crumbles to reveal a golden husk. Gaara reveals that he had buried some of his father's Gold Dust inside the decoy, then slipped it into the clone, where it dragged down its speed, drew off the heat, and melted into that shell. Won over, the Mizukage praises both the plan and the ninja who devised it.

Ōnoki identifies the steam clone and directs Gaara toward the real Mizukage. The sealing effort is disrupted when the clone destroys the tags. Gaara fools the enemy with a sand double, captures the clone, and reveals that hidden Gold Dust had been slowing and cooling it all along, earning the Mizukage's respect.
