Chapter 33 closes the Land of Waves saga as a revived Sasuke, a village that finds its courage, and Zabuza's dying wish to lie beside Haku send Team 7 home from their first true mission.
Sasuke stirs awake, having merely been dropped into a near-death trance by Haku rather than actually slain. Sakura shares the relief with Naruto, who is grateful that Haku held onto his refusal to take a life. With Gatō now dead, the mercenaries he left behind start weighing whether to loot the Land of Waves to make up for the wages they will never collect. At that moment Inari marches in with the townsfolk, ready at last to stand for their homeland. A few well-timed shadow clones from Naruto and Kakashi tip the balance, and the frightened thugs bolt.
As Zabuza slips away, he asks Kakashi for one thing: to be brought to where Haku lies. Dying, he mourns that he cannot follow his most devoted companion in death. The two are laid to rest side by side on a rise looking out over the country. Two weeks on, once Tazuna finishes the bridge, Team 7 sets off back to Konoha.
Sasuke recovers, having only been placed in a death-like state. The people of the Land of Waves, led by Inari, rise up and drive off Gatō's leaderless thugs with help from Naruto and Kakashi's clones. Zabuza dies after asking to be carried to Haku's body.
Zabuza and Haku are buried together overlooking the country, and Team 7 returns to Konoha once the completed bridge is finished two weeks later.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Yes, in "The Hero's Bridge!!" Tazuna finishes building the bridge two weeks after the battle with Gatō's men, and Team 7 sets off back to Konoha once it is complete.
No, Sasuke was only placed in a near-death trance by Haku rather than actually slain, and he stirs awake at the start of the chapter.
Zabuza dies after asking Kakashi to carry him to where Haku's body lies, mourning that he cannot follow his devoted companion in death, and the two are buried together on a rise overlooking the Land of Waves.
Inari leads the townsfolk of the Land of Waves in finally standing up for their home, and combined with shadow clones from Naruto and Kakashi, they scare off Gatō's now leaderless thugs.
This chapter concludes the Prologue Land of Waves arc and was collected in volume 4 of the manga.
