Summary

Naruto's Rasengan, charged by the Nine-Tails, meets Sasuke's Chidori, fed by the cursed seal, and the collision wraps the pair inside a swelling ball of chakra. Trapped within it, Sasuke lands a punch on Naruto while Naruto manages to gouge Sasuke's forehead protector, accomplishing the very thing Sasuke had sworn was impossible. For a moment they stand side by side as the sphere thins out, but once it fades Sasuke is left towering over an unconscious Naruto. His slashed forehead protector slips loose, and as he begins coughing up blood he gazes down at his fallen friend. Rain starts to fall, and Kakashi arrives too late, finding only a beaten Naruto lying alone.
