Summary
Kisame and Naruto react with disbelief on hearing that the two Uchiha before them are brothers. A memory fills in the rest: after wiping out their clan, Itachi told the boy that the slaughter had served only as a way to measure his own strength. That cold explanation left Sasuke terrified, and he tried to flee, but Itachi dismissed him as far too weak to land a killing blow. Instead he pushed his younger brother to grow into someone capable of avenging the family and striking him down.
