Belonging to the Logia class, this power hands its holder mastery over electricity itself. Robin counts it among the scarce few abilities considered unrivaled, and Enel stands as its only known eater. It was the third Logia the manga introduced, and the very first the story explicitly stamped with the Logia label.

Given how ruinous lightning can be, its reputation for sheer destruction runs deep across the setting.

Electricity is the wielder's to create, direct, and embody, with voltage adjustable up to around two hundred million, roughly matching a real lightning strike. Turned into living lightning, the user goes intangible so most attacks slip harmlessly through, and any enemy who lands a blow with body or conductive weapon risks being shocked in turn. Full transformation grants lightning-fast movement, near-instant travel across distance, passage through conductive gold, and travel along thunderclouds. Immune to their own current, the wielder can even jolt a stopped heart back to life.

At close quarters they burn and electrocute on contact; from afar they fling shapeless bolts, animal-shaped lightning, or thunderclaps born of superheated air. Storm clouds multiply the scale to island-wrecking size, showering countless bolts or dropping charged spheres that erase whole landmasses. The power spills into other electrical feats too, melting and reshaping metal, running machinery, and, fused with Observation Haki, reading electric waves for radar-like awareness over enormous range.

Rubber is the great undoing, a flawless insulator that made Luffy the natural counter: the lightning did nothing to him while his strikes passed clean through Enel's intangible form. Robots merely recharge from the current, a weather-manipulator can bend away weaker voltages, and the usual water, Seastone, and Armament Haki limits all remain.

Enel came across the fruit and ate it six years before the series began, and the might it gave him drove him to obliterate his homeland and cultivate a sweeping god complex. Ruling Skypiea as its self-declared God, he paired his lightning with high-grade Mantra to blanket the country in awareness and strike down anyone who defied or slighted him.

His techniques run wide. El Thor drops a column of lightning onto a target, Vari discharges raw voltage at chosen strength, and drum-summoned creatures such as Hino, Kiten, and Jamboule take beastly shapes. Storm-fed moves like Mamaragan and Raigo devastate islands, and his ultimate Amaru form remakes his whole body into a towering figure of pure lightning.
