Overview

Sitting outside the canon as a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, this power lets its holder fashion duplicates of people and steer them as though they were servants, hence the title Marionette Human. The name springs from the word marionette, and Ven Vendler is the one who swallowed it.

Mechanics

Two conditions gate every duplicate: the wielder has to know the person's name and set eyes on them in the flesh. Since a user knows both their own name and their own face, that requirement even lets them spin off copies of themselves. Each marionette can borrow the skills and Devil Fruit abilities of whoever it mirrors, yet its power sits under a hard ceiling. Formidable figures emerge badly weakened, and a puppet of King crumpled under one blow from Roronoa Zoro. Take enough damage and a marionette gives out, dropping into a lifeless puppet where it stood. On top of that, the wielder still contends with the ordinary seawater weakness.

Notable Users

Vendler assembles duplicates of assorted foes the Straw Hat Pirates once clashed with, plus copies of their comrades for use in ambushes. Among the marionettes he is known to field are old enemies such as Crocodile, Doflamingo, King, Ulti, and Page One, alongside Charlotte Perospero, Monet, Issho, and Marco. His roster also draws in the Vinsmoke pair Ichiji and Niji, plus Perona, Senor Pink, Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Viola, Nefertari Vivi, Shirahoshi, Usopp, and Silvers Rayleigh. His named move, Imperial Slave, generates marionettes, in this instance a pair of himself, though it stays unclear whether that same technique spawns all his puppets or only self-copies.
