Nicknamed Absalom of the Graveyard, this member of Thriller Bark's Mysterious Four commanded its zombie ranks and turned invisible at will. A lecherous schemer who tried to force Nami into marriage, he later worked as a reporter before the Blackbeard Pirates killed him for his Devil Fruit.
Absalom dressed lavishly in an ankle-length coat with a tall collar and a hem cut like a parapet, worn over a white button shirt patterned with two stylized crosses, plain blue slacks tucked into strapped black boots, and a chained white belt. A round white hat bore a blue mark, his hair fell long and blond, and the muzzle of a lion was sewn directly onto his face. Beneath the clothing lay a frame assembled from animal parts by Hogback, with elephant hide for skin and a blend of bear and gorilla for muscle, pushing his total weight to 300 kilograms. As a boy he had been gaunt and underfed, carrying a shovel and wearing a battered top hat.
His most defining trait was a relentless lechery that earned him the zombies' mocking name Erosalom. He thought nothing of harassment and assault, hunted for a bride among women who could not fight back, and fixated on Nami, whom he licked, spied on, abducted, and tried to wed against her will. These habits made him a near mirror of Sanji, and his hypocrisy ran deep, since he branded Sanji a pervert merely for coveting the Suke Suke no Mi to peep on women. Away from his obsession with a bride he was markedly more serious and devoted to Moria's ambitions, dreaming of one day ruling every graveyard in the world as the Graveyard King, though he was so frightened of Lola's affection that he flatly refused to marry a zombie. He also had a habit of speaking of himself in the plural.
Holding a seat among the Mysterious Four, Absalom held authority from Moria over the Soldier and General Zombies, and even undead outside his direct command obeyed him out of fear. Hogback's surgical enhancements, the elephant skin, lion jaws, and bear-gorilla musculature, granted him superhuman strength, letting him hoist a struggling Nami with one arm and carry a bazooka on each limb without strain, along with notable durability and endurance. He devoured the Suke Suke no Mi, classed as Paramecia, which rendered himself and anything he touched invisible, a power he most often abused to spy on women and later put to use in his career as a freelance reporter. His arm-mounted bazookas, hidden by his invisibility, gave the illusion of energy blasts, and he kept a dagger for a finishing strike.
