Abilities

As a mermaid, Adele shares the gifts common to her race. She breathes underwater and swims at tremendous speed, far outpacing even the flying fish ridden by the Rosy Life Riders, and she may well possess the typical mermaid talent for calling to fish through sonar, though this has not been shown. Like all mermaids, however, she is helpless once on land. She is also an accomplished dancer, performing at the banquet held for the Straw Hats.

Adele and her fellow dancers first appear at Mermaid Cove, greeting the Straw Hats after Camie brings them by. When the three princes arrive to question the crew's illegal entry to Fish-Man Island, the mermaids try to hide them, though Sanji's nosebleed and Hammond's attack give the game away. Following the clash with the New Fish-Man Pirates, Adele and her friends dance at the Ryugu Palace celebration and see the crew off toward the New World. Some time later, after the Straw Hats have gone, she and the others witness Caribou attempting to abduct two defenseless mermaids.
