Ain is a non-canon antagonist from One Piece Film: Z who serves as the Neo Marines' vice-admiral and second-in-command, the renegade force led by her mentor Z. Once a Marine officer herself, she walked away from the government out of loyalty to him and wields a fruit that can rewind a person's age.
Slender and youthful, Ain wears her dark blue hair framing the face and has eyes of a reddish-brown shade, with a hairpiece bearing the same inverted Marine emblem that Z favors. Over formal wear of high heels, black leggings, and a brown top and skirt she drapes a captain's coat of black and gold, finished with a large white bow at the collar; in her Marine days she went with a sleeveless shirt and tie. Her main battle look swaps in a hooded blue cape carrying the Neo Marine flag, a sleeveless purple top with a white collar that bares her midriff, grey shorts, black heels, and a holster strapped to the right leg. A prominent X-shaped scar marks that same leg, likely a wound from the disastrous training mission that killed every young Marine under Z save her and Binz.
Composed and severe by default, Ain seldom lets feeling surface, though worry broke through when her teacher faced danger, and grief overtook her when the Marines killed Z. She backs his ambitions completely whatever the risk. Her devotion to the man she calls Z-Sensei runs deep enough that she abandoned the Marines to follow him, branding herself a criminal in the government's eyes. With her own subordinates she is exacting and quick to punish failure, yet she shoulders the blame when they fall short, as in her apology to Z over Shuzo's loss.
Trained directly by Z, Ain fights at an exceptional level, fitting for the deputy of an outfit strong enough to crush many New World crews. She outlasted Shuzo across five hours of combat and won through strategy, and she held her ground against Zoro. Her speed, agility, and reflexes let her slip past swarms of Marines while cutting them down with dagger strikes delivered in a reverse grip, and a sharp tactical mind rounds out her style. She pairs all of this with a Paramecia-class fruit, the Modo Modo no Mi, which produces an orb that strips twelve years from whatever it touches. By reverting foes to childhood she weakens them, and enough applications erase a target from existence entirely; the power also reshapes terrain, locking enemies in re-tightened earth or turning cooled lava molten once more. For arms she carries two dagger-like short swords plus a pair of large pistols named Kuromaru and Akamaru.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
