All-Hunt Grount

Standing about as tall as Luffy, Grount cuts a teenage figure topped by a tall red mohawk flanked by short black hair on either side. His eyes are a deep red, and a noticeable scar marks the lower left of his face. His outfit combines a black vest over a creased white shirt, red trousers, knee-high beige boots, and a frayed Marine cape. Metal braces wrap his left arm, the limb transformed by his Devil Fruit.

A fierce devotion to justice drives Grount, but arrogance and aggression define how he carries it out. He prizes raw strength above almost everything, to the point of striking down comrades he judges too weak. Combat thrills him, and he chases every fight he can find, even setting his ambitions on toppling Big Mom. He bickered with Bonham over who would claim Luffy first, showing a competitive streak. His pride leaves him brittle, however: after Luffy outmatched him a second time, he briefly branded himself weak and lost his nerve, only to recover his spirit by recalling Aokiji's words. Beaten twice over, he walked away without bitterness, resolved instead to grow stronger and even respecting Luffy.

Grount commands enormous power, able to crush dozens of fellow Marines single-handedly, and earned his Captain rank at just seventeen. His reflexes let him cut down attackers from any angle, and he moves fast while leaping to great heights. He carries two daggers sheathed at his hips but handles them only passably, leaning on bare-handed combat instead.

His unclassified Zoan fruit behaves oddly, reshaping only his left arm into a huge gorilla-like limb covered in red fur and tipped with claws. The arm packs devastating force, loosing blows that send sweeping shockwaves on impact, enough to overwhelm Luffy's Gear 2 and trade evenly with Gear 3. Unlike typical Zoans, he could neither revert it nor control it at first, so the Marines fitted him with a metal brace to cap its strength, venting steam whenever he drew on it. Mastery eventually let him shatter the brace and unleash the limb fully.
