Personality

Devotion to the Whitebeard Pirates defines Amadob's conduct as an ally. He proved that loyalty by carrying out the order to strike at the Marine battleships and force open the bay at Marineford. Choosing to enter such a fight for Ace's sake further reflects the deep ties he holds with the crew. The disclosure that Luffy was the son of Dragon caught him completely off guard.

History

At some point ahead of the main story, Amadob built up a name as a pirate working in the New World and formed an alliance with Whitebeard. When the Marines prepared to execute Ace at Marineford, he and his men lent their strength to the Whitebeard Pirates in the rescue attempt. The crowd of New World captains, Amadob among them, reacted with shock once Sengoku revealed Luffy's parentage. After Whitebeard called for an assault to clear the bay, Amadob guided his ship toward the left flank together with Islewan, and the allied fleet broke through. He then looked on as numerous Marines stabbed and gunned down Whitebeard. Following the conflict, the surviving allies gathered for the funeral on a secluded New World island to honor Whitebeard and Ace, a scene shown in the anime though absent from the manga.
