Appearance

Tall and slender, Bayan carries a long face that ends in a square chin. His wavy hair runs ice blue, with one blond wisp jutting free near the top. The wardrobe is theatrical: a flowing white coat lined in pink, finished with a red bow and purple collar, worn over a frilled white shirt. White flared trousers and white boots finish the outfit, and he loads his fingers with rings.

Personality

Conceit and greed steer him. He kills without hesitation when treasure is on the line, and seizing command over other people troubles him not at all, even when it means forcing children to attack the friends they care about to get what he wants.

History

Years earlier, Bayan and the father of Amanda both hunted the same magnificent prize. The moment that father uncovered it, Bayan turned on him and dealt a fatal wound, leaving the man only enough strength to limp home and entrust the treasure's whereabouts to his children. The crew pressed on with the search, and Bayan's lieutenant Zap eventually caught Amanda along with her younger siblings, plus Maccus and Bonney picked up on the way. A bargain let Amanda slip free with the children, which infuriated Bayan and drove him to keep Zap and the others scouring for her over roughly a month.

Arriving at the island, he ordered Zap to grab Amanda, who turned up with a sleeping Luffy launched onto the deck beside her. His signature weapon is a song his crew chants in unison, overriding the actions of whoever hears it; he used it to make Amanda reveal the map inked across her back and to set Luffy on his own friends. The plan collapsed when Usopp shot newly devised sleeping pellets into the singers' mouths and knocked them out mid-chorus. Going to learn what had become of Zap, Bayan instead met a seven-way strike from the Straw Hats and went down without resistance, confirming how weak a fighter he truly was.
