History

Amanda lost her mother early in life. Throughout her youth, her father set out on grand journeys to gather treasure meant to bring his children joy, a choice that wounded her since all she truly wanted was his company. He came back from one such trip carrying a mortal injury dealt by Bayan. Before passing, he handed a log pose to the younger sister Milia, passed a map-reading tool to the younger brother Holy, and then traced a map onto Amanda's back.

Roughly a month before her encounter with the Straw Hats, Zap captured Amanda along with her siblings. While Maccus and Bonney were hauling cargo, they stumbled onto the children, and Amanda bargained with the pair to reach the island where the treasure lay. The five of them slipped away from Zap aboard a small lifeboat and set course for it.

They eventually drifted onto a deserted island that the Straw Hats were also visiting. Their effort to stay out of sight failed once Zoro spotted them quickly. Revealing themselves, the trio claimed to be a vacationing family, but when Usopp launched into a tale of adventure, Amanda stormed off in fury. The Bayan Pirates then landed and seized both her and Luffy. Zap held her down while Bayan wrung the map from her through his choir's singing. The Straw Hats overcame Zap and Bayan and helped uncover the prize, which proved to be the enormous clam and pearl that formed the very island. The discovery rekindled Amanda's faith in her father. Afterward, Maccus and Bonney offered to take her and her siblings in.
