Bent

Bent is a small boy whose short, light-colored hair rises in an upward spike above an oval head, which tapers to a large, rounded chin at the bottom. A black fur coat hangs from his shoulders and across his back.

A nervous child, Bent is deeply frightened of his mother and frets constantly about how she will react to any trouble he causes. In keeping with the other pupils of the Walrus School, he opposes violence and fighting. His mother is harsh enough that he finds her genuinely scary, yet she cares for him fiercely and braves grave danger to protect him, even withstanding Imu's Supreme King Haki to reach him. By her own account, she behaves so sternly precisely as a way of keeping him safe. His father serves among the Giant Warrior Pirates and fretted over the boy's safety once he was taken.

When the Straw Hat Pirates first reached the island, Bent stood among the cluster of Walrus School pupils who came out to greet them, alongside the biology teacher Ripley. He grew upset when Colon later picked a fight with Luffy at the school, and he afterward sat in Ange's class as the students discussed their greatest fears. Soon after, he and several classmates were taken hostage by the Knights of God to coerce the local giants into fighting. Put to sleep and steered by controlling arrows, the children were marched across the forest, where Jinbe put out a fire that would have harmed them. A nightmare version of Bent's mother was even conjured as a Mother Mode Animal, and Imu's burst of Supreme King Haki knocked the captives senseless.

Driven toward the coast for shipment to Mary Geoise, the children were rescued when their guardians arrived. After a hole opened down to the Underworld and the arrow forced them toward a fatal drop, Bent's mother embraced him through the thorns, and the pair fell only to land safely on Loki's back beside Luffy below. In the Western Village the kids put themselves between Sommers and their guardians, until Zoro, Luffy, and Loki put a stop to his rain of thorns and freed them. A later flood conjured by Killingham recaptured the kids once more in preparation for extraction.
