Ripley is a giant of Elbaph, drawn from its last generation of warriors and now a biology teacher at the Walrus School. The common-law wife of former Roger Pirate Scopper Gaban and mother to Colon, she guides Franky through the Adam Tree before fighting to save her son during the Elbaph Arc.
Tall and slim for a giantess, Ripley is marked above all by a sleek violet tattoo that streaks down her entire left side, tracing from her temple all the way to her foot. Pink eyes peer out from beneath long pink hair worn in front braids, with bangs draped over the right half of her face.
Her clothing keeps to a green palette: a midriff-baring tank top stamped with a horned Jolly Roger, a fur cape, a short skirt cinched by leather belts, and fuzzy boots bound in bands.
Easygoing to a fault, Ripley pays little mind to manners and curses freely, even as she hypocritically tells off her students for the same. She nonetheless follows the late King Harald's creed, which favors peace and trade over conquest. Old warrior customs still hold value for her, and she encourages Colon's wish to become a fighter while sharing the giants' fascination with Nika.
Her bond with her son runs deep. She raised him on Elbaph's warrior traditions, shaping much of who he is, yet she parents responsibly, scolding him for stripping a weaker child of a toy in a duel and urging gentleness. Her devotion reaches the point of being ready to die at his side rather than let him face despair alone. She also loved Scopper Gaban, whom she met after the Roger Pirates broke up; the two never wed because he aged faster than she did, and like other giants she still calls him Ya-san. She keeps a friendly tie with Mato, who lets Colon visit the tavern, and she took warmly to Luffy and to Franky, whose cyborg curiosity she catered to during her tour of the Adam Tree.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...
As a giantess, Ripley wields enormous strength and a lifespan far beyond a human's, and her training among Elbaph's final warrior generation makes her a capable combatant, though her swordwork in the clash with the Zaza MMA showed no real skill. Her deeper asset is scholarship: she knows the Treasure Tree Adam intimately, guiding Franky through its layout and explaining a Harley mural and a three-thousand-year-old facility built within it.
She met Gaban two decades ago after Roger's death, the two helping Saul set up a school on Elbaph, and they soon had Colon, whom Gaban prized above all. Years later Shanks visited, and Ripley teased him for stories of Gaban's pirate past. When the Straw Hats arrived and the schoolchildren sent them tumbling onto her, she explained Elbaph's fading warrior ways and quizzed Luffy about his Nika form. She later led Franky around the Adam Tree, fending off a storm MMA and reuniting with Gaban among the wrecked Giant Warrior Pirates, only to hear Sommers threaten the captive children, Colon included.
Refusing to wait, she set off with the giants to stop the Knights of God, but Imu's possession of Gunko twisted the rescue into chaos, turning warriors into Demons. Ripley fled yet pressed on toward her son. When the children were about to plummet through a hole in the Sea Clouds, she embraced Colon through the thorns and impaled herself to fall with him, the two saved by Luffy atop Loki. In the Western Village she begged Colon not to sacrifice himself, was spared when Zoro, Luffy, and Loki downed Sommers, and recognized Luffy as the warrior of liberation. Battered but unbowed, she rose once more against the Zaza MMA that Killingham summoned to flood the village and snatch seven children, declaring her life worthless if she could not save her son.
Ripley's common-law husband is Scopper Gaban, a former Roger Pirate. The two never formally married because Gaban aged faster than she did as a giant.
