Buchi forms one half of the Nyaban Brothers, a pair of cat-themed officers who stand guard over the Black Cat Pirates' ship. As the heavyweight bruiser of the duo, he masks his strength behind feigned cowardice before crushing opponents with his bulk, and he tangled repeatedly with Zoro during the trouble at Syrup Village.
Buchi is a heavyset man styled loosely after a black-and-white cat. His skin is pale, his teeth sharp, and his eyes tiny, and a pair of cat ears sit atop his head. He wears black-and-white striped trousers cinched with a yellow sash, dark brown shoes, and a cape striped in light and dark purple finished with a fluffy white edge. A shoulder pad covers his left arm, and his pale blue gloves end in claws.
Cunning and underhanded, Buchi shares his partner Sham's habit of playing meek and frightened, as he did against Zoro, in order to coax an enemy into dropping their guard. Once that guard falls he turns vicious, taking obvious pride in his power and carrying himself in a cat-like manner. His loyalty to Kuro is shallow at best; he bristled at being branded weak and was willing to turn on his former captain, reasoning that three years of inactivity had left Kuro no match for him.
Buchi signed on with the Black Cat Pirates and over time partnered with Sham, the two rising through the ranks together as the crew's officers and the Nyaban Brothers who watched over the ship, the Bezan Black. When Luffy and Zoro routed the crew on the slope to Syrup Village, Jango summoned Buchi and Sham down to finish the job, and the pair loudly complained that their foes looked too strong. With Sham pinning Zoro, Buchi leapt in with his Cat the Funjatta stomp, only for the swordsman to dodge and leave the ground split apart. Their combined Neko-Yanagi Daikoshin pressed Zoro hard, yet both froze in terror when Kuro arrived, throttled them, and gave them five minutes to kill their enemies. Zoro instead cut through them with Tora Gari. Severely hurt, Buchi begged Jango to hypnotize him and grew far stronger, but Zoro defeated him once more, after which the crew hauled him back aboard and fled.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Buchi is one half of the Nyaban Brothers, the cat-themed officers who guard the Black Cat Pirates' ship under Captain Kuro. He is the heavyweight of the pair, using feigned cowardice to lure enemies into dropping their guard before overpowering them with his size.
Buchi fights by pretending to be meek and frightened, tricking opponents into lowering their guard before crushing them with his brute strength as a heavyset, cat-styled brawler. He combines his stomping Cat the Funjatta attack with partner Sham's moves in the Neko-Yanagi Daikoshin combination.
Buchi and Sham were sent by Jango to finish off Luffy and Zoro on the slope to Syrup Village, but Zoro dodged Buchi's stomping attack and eventually cut through both officers with his Tora Gari technique. Buchi begged Jango to hypnotize him for more power, yet Zoro defeated him a second time.
Buchi's loyalty to Captain Kuro was shallow, and he bristled at being called weak, reasoning that three years of inactivity had left Kuro unable to match his own strength. He was even willing to turn on his former captain once his pride was wounded.
Buchi belonged to the Black Cat Pirates, where he rose through the ranks alongside his partner Sham to become one of the crew's officers guarding their ship, the Bezan Black.
