Cabaji the Acrobat

Lean and standing very tall, Cabaji is best recognized by the hairstyle that drapes across half his face, long on one side and shaved into a parallel pattern on the other. The manga renders his hair black, while the anime splits it into light and dark green. A large checkered scarf in blue and white usually hides the lower half of his face. He wears a sleeveless coat reaching to the knees, in brown for the manga and purple in the anime, over white trousers that flare at the cuffs and are held by a sash, finished with white shoes. During the Zou Arc he sports a white top hat.

Cabaji carries himself with a serious, elegant, and faintly mysterious air, and he is a capable opponent who takes pride in his polish. His devotion to Buggy runs deep: he wept when he believed his captain dead and was overjoyed at his return, and he keeps close to Buggy's side far more than his rival Mohji does. That loyalty came with a ruthless streak, shown when he grabbed Mohji's pet lion Richie to shield himself from a ricocheting cannon ball, purely to avoid getting dirty. He maintains a constant competition with Mohji over who ranks higher in the crew. Two years on, a colder edge surfaced; when Crocodile's takeover of Cross Guild left Buggy facing death, Cabaji simply shrugged and advised the others that following their new leader was the only option, brushing off his chairman's peril while the party continued.

As the crew's chief of staff, Cabaji commands the lower-ranking members on a level roughly equal to Mohji. He is physically powerful, capable of hoisting Richie one-armed and launching Mohji with a single kick. His signature combat method, called Carnival Tricks, fuses acrobatics with the sword and leans on a parade of circus gimmicks: his trademark unicycle, razor-edged spinning tops, sword swallowing, and breath that spews flame. He fights with daggers as readily as a blade, like his captain, and has even shown decent hand-to-hand skill when disarmed.

His most notable showing came in Orange Town, where he challenged Roronoa Zoro to a duel and fought dirty, repeatedly striking the swordsman's existing wounds and breathing fire into his face. Knocked off his unicycle, he escalated with spinning tops and aggressive acrobatics. Zoro, refusing to lose to anyone calling himself a swordsman, opened his own side to prove the wound meant nothing, then finished Cabaji with the Oni Giri across his chest.
