Mohji

A muscular torso and thick lips mark Mohji, who drapes a white fur vest over his chest and wears green trousers, which the anime colors blue, cinched by a black sash and finished with footwear shaped like white furred animal feet. Nearly every arc brings a new hairstyle: a teddy bear shape during Orange Town, a bunny-eared pink helmet at Loguetown, a lion's mane in Jaya, and a ram-like cut at Impel Down. The timeskip added weight to both him and Richie, leaving Mohji plump in a dark blue fur suit with a panda-styled head of hair.

Mohji leans toward pomposity with occasional silliness, and he runs a constant contest with Cabaji over who ranks higher in the crew. His tenderest feelings go to Richie, the lion he favors above most people and whose mistreatment truly stings him, as when Cabaji turned the animal into a shield. He is loyal and devoted to Buggy, weeping when he thought his captain dead, yet just as ready to fall in behind Crocodile once Cross Guild took shape. Setting fire to his enemies' belongings is another of his habits.

Mohji boasts he can command any creature he likes, a claim the dog Chouchou disproved by biting him, and aside from his bond with Richie he is fast, agile, and deadly with a whip, as in his Special Sideshow that loops the lash around a foe and spins them. Buggy first sent him to capture Roronoa Zoro, but he grew overconfident and ordered Richie to strike Luffy inside an iron cage, which the rubber-bodied captain shrugged off. After he torched the pet shop Chouchou guarded, Luffy knocked Richie out and Mohji fled, barely warning Buggy about Luffy's Devil Fruit before the Straw Hats arrived. When Buggy was beaten, he and Cabaji battled for hours over leadership until a sleepwalking Richie flattened them both. At Loguetown the rain foiled his attempt to burn the Going Merry, and his own clumsiness knocked him out before he rejoined the crew.

He resurfaced in the Grand Line during Jaya, later begging Alvida to rescue Buggy from Impel Down before the crew honored their captain's presumed death and pressed onward. He wept with joy at Buggy's eventual return and introduced himself to the freed Impel Down prisoners, and once Buggy joined the Seven Warlords the whole crew was pardoned. Following the timeskip he reappeared at Karai Bari Island within Buggy's Delivery, ruining a celebration by announcing the defection of the New Giant Warrior Pirates to the Straw Hats. When the Warlord system collapsed and Marines under Stainless confronted the island, Crocodile wiped out the fleet and folded Buggy's operation into the new Cross Guild that Mohji now serves.
