Cal

Cal has greyish skin, a crooked grin, a thin nose, oversized ears, and a jutting chin. Dark rings sit beneath his eyes, several of his teeth are missing, and his short hair is grey. He dresses in a pink scarf fastened by a snake-head brooch, a brown shirt with broad white cuffs, black gloves, dark trousers, and boots with large triangular buckles. A thick belt with a matching buckle crosses his left shoulder, holding a sheath that carries an enormous knife.

Cal is a schemer who played the part of Cello's devoted aide while secretly betraying him on behalf of the Lytton Food Thieves. Stripped of his comrades, he turns timid and folds quickly under pressure. He has a distinctive way of laughing, a clipped "Hihhihhi."

Cal shows no real combat strength, surrendering the instant his captain Lytton was beaten. His only weapon is a blade shaped like a giant kitchen knife. Throughout Treasure Wars he fed Cello progress reports as the Straw Hats collected Life Gems on Cream Mist, reassuring the nervous king at each stage. When Cello fretted about pirates reaching his mansion, Cal introduced his "trusted friend" Helsing to intercept them, and after Helsing fell he produced yet another fighter. Once Lytton finally revealed himself, Cello grasped that Cal had been in league with him the whole time, and Cal obediently restrained the king on Lytton's order. After the Straw Hats defeated Lytton inside the mansion, Cal panicked, gave up the location of the stolen Eternal Pose, and was hauled off to jail by Smoker alongside his captain.
