When Ace faced execution at Marineford, Colscon brought his crew to fight beside the Whitebeard Pirates, and the combined fleet of forty-three subordinate captains stunned the Marines by appearing without warning just off the coast. The moment Akainu dealt Ace a fatal blow, Colscon shouted his comrade's name and watched in anguish as Ace died. Soon after, the Red Hair Pirates showed up, Sengoku declared the war finished, and the surviving pirates, Colscon included, were free to depart.
