Dahlia

Long-limbed and slender, Dahlia wears her hair in a high ponytail with bangs across the forehead. A dark top sits above dark briefs edged with frills, and draped over the ensemble is a pale cloak. Dark boots and hooped earrings round out her look.

Gentle and warm by nature, Dahlia holds dear the short love she once felt and the daughter born from it. Loyalty to her island runs strong in her, and she shares her tribe's admiration for Boa Hancock, which is why she sailed home instead of staying beside the man she loved. Being a Kuja, she is taken to be a strong fighter, having braved the Calm Belt alone on nothing but a tiny raft.

Some years ago a storm battered the Kuja Pirates mid-voyage. A wave flung a small Sea King onto the deck, and as Dahlia tried to push it off she was thrown into the sea and rendered unconscious. Presumed dead, she was left behind. She came to alone on a barren island, where a merchant crew picked her up and, knowing her as a Kuja, sheltered her until she could go home. A young apprentice who served her meals slowly thawed her cold front, and the pair grew close enough to fall in love.

His marriage proposal came during a crewmate's party, but with her mind already fixed on returning, she declined; the sailors staged a small symbolic wedding as a send-off, and the two spent a few married months together before she stepped ashore at a nearby island. The departing ship had barely left when she realized a child was on the way. Undeterred, she swapped vessels again and again to cross the Calm Belt and finally reached Amazon Lily. As her labor set in, Aphelandra, Marguerite, and Sweet Pea found her, summoned Cassandra, and Courtney arrived safely. Hancock later called Dahlia to the castle to ask about romance and seduction; mistaking it for a treason hearing, the frightened woman left bewildered once she was set free.
