Daifugo holds the Shinuchi rank among the Beasts Pirates and ran the Prisoner Mine in Wano's Udon region as its vice warden, until the inmates revolted and beat him. Kurozumi Tama later tamed him, flipping him into an ally against Kaidou.
Daifugo is a tanned, muscular man of roughly middling height, his pale purple hair tied into a long ponytail that ends in a scorpion's stinger. A masked helmet much like Jack's sits over his face, and he wears an open, sleeveless leather vest with frilly shoulder pads bearing the words NUMBER 65 on the back. His SMILE gives him six legs in all, each clad in dark leather pants belted in brown and spiked at the knee. Somewhere on him is a scorpion tattoo he had even before eating the fruit.
Keeping order in the prison is a serious matter to Daifugo, and he is harsh and brutal with any inmate who steps out of line, granting no leniency, as Hyougoro discovered when Daifugo thrashed him over kibi dango he was not entitled to. He is boastful too, claiming he could dispatch Luffy in an instant if allowed. A genuine love of scorpions predates his fruit. Once Tama tamed him, that cruelty gave way to devotion, and he worked to win the other Gifters over to the rebel alliance.
The Scorpion SMILE he consumed sprouts four more functional legs and turns his hair into a stinger-tipped scorpion tail, letting him crawl along walls and ceilings; with Scorpion Death Needle he drives that stinger into an enemy. A blade rides at his back, yet he has never been shown swinging it, and he once held a rifle, but his favored weapons are twin flintlocks firing Excite Bullets, ammunition carrying the Mummy virus that spreads a fierce fever through skin contact.
In Udon he pummeled the inmate Hyo over unearned meal tickets, only to be kicked in the head and knocked flat by Luffy. When Big Mom rampaged through the prison, he asked warden Babanuki whether to strike at her and was told not to. As the rebellion broke out, he shot prisoners with Excite Bullets to infect them and meant to subdue Luffy by hitting the inmates clutching him, but Luffy let himself be infected, roused the prisoners, and the mob battered Daifugo down. Tama tamed him afterward, and during the Fire Festival he sailed to Onigashima with Speed and Gazelleman, passing out her dango before defending her from Beasts Pirates. He later helped haul the unconscious Komachiyo while escaping the burning castle and took refuge in the bathhouse, meeting Marco there.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Daifugo ate the Scorpion SMILE, an Artificial Zoan fruit that grows him four extra legs and turns his hair into a stinger tipped scorpion tail, letting him crawl along walls and ceilings. His signature move, Scorpion Death Needle, drives that stinger into an enemy, and he also fights with twin flintlocks that fire Excite Bullets carrying the Mummy virus.
When the Udon prison inmates rebel, Daifugo shoots prisoners with Excite Bullets to infect them, but Luffy lets himself be infected and rouses the prisoners, who then band together and beat Daifugo down. He is tamed afterward by Kurozumi Tama, who turns him against Kaidou.
After Kurozumi Tama tames him, Daifugo works to win over the other Gifters to the rebel alliance and sails to Onigashima during the Fire Festival alongside Speed and Gazelleman.
