Working for the Kurozumi Family as a retainer, Dashiteyaro serves as a guard in the Flower Capital. To handle inmates, he must possess at least some combat skill, and he carried a spear while watching over the prisoners held in Rasetsu Town. The anime shows him jabbing a captive with the weapon's blunt end.
After Orochi commanded that a thousand suspected rebels be detained, Dashiteyaro took up a post outside their holding cell. The arrests had in fact been engineered by the rebels themselves as a deliberate ploy, and as it grew clear the detainees had been taken in error, he openly wondered aloud why they remained behind bars.
