Double Down is a non-canon figure from One Piece Film: Gold, a brawny cook who once managed the Wild Cow eatery on the floating casino city of Gran Tesoro. Designed by Eiichiro Oda himself, he is remembered for shielding two children from cruel authorities.
Bulky and heavily muscled, Double Down keeps his scalp shaved bare while sporting a thick dark mustache paired with a beard trimmed into five neat points. Old wounds mark his frame, with a slight scar tracing his collarbone and a wider one across the left arm. For work he ties a yellow apron, stamped with a cut of meat and the word WILDCOW, over a dark brown shirt, and rounds out the look with blue trousers, brown footwear, and tinted blue spectacles.
His defining quality is decency. Rather than let two youngsters suffer at the hands of Gran Tesoro's enforcers, he stepped forward, claimed responsibility, and accepted a beating on their behalf without complaint.
Within the Wild Cow restaurant, a pair of children called Ricca and Tempo found themselves bullied by the island's guards. Double Down defused the situation by offering an apology for the kids and taking the punishment that followed, after which the officers moved on.
Later that evening, the Straw Hat Pirates doused Gran Tesoro in seawater, snapping Gild Tesoro's gold-fueled grip over the populace. Freed from that control, Double Down joined his neighbors in turning on Tesoro's men, and once the boss was beaten, he sailed away from the city alongside the other liberated residents. He resurfaces briefly in One Piece: Stampede, cheering from the stands during a contest at the Pirates Festival.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
