Appearance

True to his name, Captain Gorilla has a face strongly evoking a gorilla, with shaggy sideburns and a large, distinctive nose of the same character. He keeps a regulation Marine cap on his head and, suited to the frozen island he was sent to, wraps himself in a fur-lined cape marked with the Marine insignia, epaulets riding atop what appears to be a long pocketed coat. A standard flintlock rifle hangs across his back. In younger days his sideburns were thinner, his face rounder and more pear-shaped, and he wore no cloak.

Personality

For all his beastly looks, Gorilla comes across as composed and ready to follow orders as given. He thinks logically too, declining to leap straight to conclusions about Franky during his time on Karakuri Island. He is not the bravest, though, and panicked badly at the sight of the so-called Sacred Burning Beast charging his way.

Abilities

His assignment to investigate the Karakuri Island incident suggests some skill at investigation, reinforced by his refusal to accept the obvious answer without exploring the facts for himself. As a captain he holds authority over all Marines of lower rank, and he carries a rifle that, given his officer status, he is presumably trained to use.
