Great King of Angolmois

The hiragana character for a sits printed across his oval-shaped head, which is topped by a crown shaded in purple and green. His features are sparse: tiny dot eyes flank an oversized nose. For dress he favors a striped suit in orange and yellow tones, finished off with a red bow tie.

Because he never utters a word, almost nothing about his inner character can be pinned down. The one trait that surfaces is a clear fondness for the dog Chouchou, whom he takes a liking to upon meeting.

Long ago he rose to fame as a king, and prophecy held that the world would one day end by his hand. To sidestep the foretold catastrophe, the World Government simply locked him up for a month until the dangerous date had passed. Texts written after his death claimed he could be brought back someday.

In Grand Line Dream Adventure Log, a band of devotees calling themselves the Great King Resurrection Squad gathers in a cave on Gold Island to revive him. The Straw Hat Pirates wander in just as the squad's leader recounts the legend and channels his prayers. A burst of light follows, and Angolmois arrives from above driving a bus. The leader cannot get a coherent reply out of him, writes the whole thing off as a botched attempt, and resolves to summon the genuine article instead. Abandoned with the crew, Angolmois spots Chouchou, breaks into a grin, and tags along. The character traces back to a doomsday prophecy attributed to Nostradamus that became widely known in Japan.
