Gyoro, Nin, and Bao

Character

Three small, oddly built Soldier Zombies who run errands for Gecko Moria on Thriller Bark. Often compared with Lock, Shock, and Barrel of The Nightmare Before Christmas, the trio mostly relay news of intruders until their master strips their shadows away.

Appearance

Each of the three is a compact Soldier Zombie, about as big as Chopper in his Brain Point form. The one-eyed, samurai-styled Gyoro carries an egg-shaped head. Nin, pinkish-red and armed with a bow, has a triangular skull. Bao is yellow and resembles a costumed hero, his head shaped like a bucket.

Personality

Plain fear of Gecko Moria runs through all three, yet they stay loyal, which is why they raced to tell him the Straw Hats had landed, certain the report would prove useful. They likewise show respect toward the Mysterious Four, dutifully announcing that group's arrival.

History

As with every undead on the island, the three came to life once Moria embedded stolen shadows in them through his Kage Kage no Mi. Their combat ability was never put on display. Gyoro keeps an undrawn sword on his back, while Nin's bow once popped a snot bubble of Moria's to rouse him.

Through the Thriller Bark Arc the trio roused Moria with word of the Straw Hat Pirates' landing, then later reported the Mysterious Four. After Luffy's shadow was taken, they were told to clear a route toward Oars and trailed their master to view his largest creation, the special-rank zombie. Nami, Usopp, and Chopper later spilled out of Kumashi; the three lunged to grab the falling pirates but halted as Oars began to stir, then steered Absalom in pursuit. When Oars carried the ship past the Florian Triangle, they hurried to alert Moria and walked in on his meeting with Bartholomew Kuma. After Oars went down they worried over their boss, only for Moria to drain their shadows, along with every other zombie's, to power himself up.
