Hikoichi

Standing a touch under the usual height for his kind, Hikoichi has feathers of soft, light yellow. His outfit consists of a straw kasa, a pelt woven from straw, and a green necktie knotted at his throat.

Among the swiftest sprinters anywhere in Arabasta, Hikoichi owes his pace to his Super Spot-Billed Duck nature as well as to his training within the Duck Troops. He has been drilled to bear riders on his back, and the harsh desert climate of his homeland poses no trouble for him. Like every duck in the unit, he stays loyal to Karoo.

Once Karoo had carried word of Baroque Works to Alubarna, he gathered the rest of the flock and led them to rendezvous with the Straw Hats. Each pirate mounted a duck, and the group cloaked themselves while charging toward the capital to throw off the enemy agents. Hikoichi took Nami onto his back and broke away alongside Kentauros. The pair sped through the West Gate as Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger gave chase, then set their riders down at the Medi Assembly Hall.

Once the battles began, Zoro and Nami were soon split apart, leaving Kentauros and Hikoichi at Zoro's side. He started asking the ducks to track her down, but then noticed her himself and dashed off the wrong way, leaving the two birds stunned. When the fighting wound down and rain began to fall, the flock came back together. After the crew had recovered, the ducks carried them across southwestern Arabasta to the Going Merry, said their farewells, and set off home toward Alubarna. Later, Hikoichi joined his fellow troops and Arabasta's men on a trip to Ukkari Hot-Spring Island.
