Titled "Arabasta Animal Land," this chapter has Miss All Sunday haul Luffy out of the quicksand and hand him to Pell, while a procession of desert beasts ferries the rest of the crew across the Sandora toward Alubarna.
Recalling Crocodile's parting taunt, Luffy begins sinking again until Ms. All-Sunday's blooming hands pluck him free. She wonders aloud why those bearing the letter D press on through their fights, and when Luffy has no answer she lets the matter rest. The sudden arrival of Pell catches her eye; ignoring his hostility, she suggests he look after Luffy, lets slip that Vivi is bound for Alubarna, and then departs astride an F-Wani. Luffy promptly seizes Pell and complains that he is starving.
Back in Nanohana, it comes to light that Igaram lived through the ambush at Whisky Peak and must now race to stop the civil war. With the rebels pushing toward the capital and Crocodile's storm bearing down on Yuba, Toto roars defiance at the wind, insisting it will never grind his city away.
Usopp is dismayed to find that Hasami cannot ford the Sandora, since his species of crab drowns in water. Chopper recalls the crab's soft spot for dancing women, so Nami slips into a dancer's costume to spur him onward, delighting Sanji and Matsuge, though even his quickened pace falls short. Made to continue on foot, the crew is nearly devoured by a Sandora catfish until the Kung Fu Dugongs, mistaking them for Luffy's underlings, intervene and tow the stunned fish across as a makeshift raft. With Hasami left behind, a fresh ride saves them: the spot-billed ducks, led by Karoo, sweep in to carry the group the remaining distance.
Two clues signal that Nico Robin is not genuinely on Crocodile's side: she rescues Luffy and discloses that Igaram survived. The chapter marks the debut of the duck troops, and at the western gate the Baroque Works agents agree that the only thing that counts is eliminating Vivi. Its cover depicts Nami and a trio of tanuki panning for gold in a stream.
In Chapter 180, "Arabasta Animal Land," Miss All Sunday saves Luffy from the sinking sand and leaves him with Pell, while the rest of the Straw Hats rely on a parade of desert creatures to cross the Sandora river toward Alubarna.
In Chapter 180, Miss All Sunday, later revealed as Nico Robin, pulls Luffy free from the sinking sand with her Hana Hana no Mi power and leaves him in Pell's care.
Chapter 180 offers two clues that Nico Robin is not genuinely on Crocodile's side: she rescues Luffy from the sand, and she reveals to Pell that Igaram survived the Baroque Works ambush at Whisky Peak.
In Chapter 180, the crab Hasami cannot cross the Sandora because his species drowns in water, so after Kung Fu Dugongs tow off a dangerous Sandora catfish, the spot-billed ducks led by Karoo arrive to carry the Straw Hats the rest of the way.
One Piece Chapter 180 is titled "Arabasta Animal Land" (Arabasuta Dobutsu Rando in Japanese), part of the Arabasta Arc.
