A storm spared the Dreadnaught Sabre from total destruction, letting roughly a hundred survivors limp back to the East Blue, every one of them ravaged by hunger. During Luffy's bout with Krieg at the Baratie, Hustle kept to the water so he could dodge his own captain's poisonous attacks, and once Krieg fell, Gin carried him and the rest of the crew away from the restaurant. In the live-action retelling he does not survive Mihawk's assault and so never appears at the Baratie.
