Saint Jaygarcia Saturn sat among the Five Elders, the World Nobles who publicly governed the World Government, and worked as a scientist ranked as a warrior god over the government's science and defense. More than two centuries old, he led the siege on Egghead to silence Dr. Vegapunk before Imu stripped away his immortality and ended his life.
Saturn was a portly old man whose thick white beard and mustache matched his white hair, which sat beneath a square black cap and recalled the wig of a judge. A diagonal scar ran across his left eye. He dressed much as two of his fellow Elders did, pairing a black suit and trousers with a deep purple tie and a collared white shirt, and he leaned on a walking cane. Unusually for a Celestial Dragon, he went without the resin bubble his caste normally wears away from Mary Geoise, and his features had not changed across the two hundred years he had lived.
A gifted scientist and strategist, Saturn regarded ordinary people as expendable, frequently calling them insects and treating even his own Marines and Cipher Pol agents as disposable assets. He believed firmly in rigid social castes and felt no guilt over cruel human experiments, having used the enslaved Ginny and her infant daughter Bonney as test subjects and later demanding that Bartholomew Kuma be stripped of his personality and free will. His research served the government's military aims rather than any broader good. Beneath a usually composed manner ran enormous arrogance, as he trusted his own genius over Vegapunk's, gloated over those he had wronged, and reacted badly whenever events slipped from his control. That overconfidence proved fatal, since underestimating Luffy's Nika power let the pirate slip away and cost Saturn his life at Imu's hand.
Standing with the Five Elders at the very top of the World Government, Saturn answered to no one but the hidden Imu, and he commanded the Marines, every Cipher Pol agency, and even the Fleet Admiral. He could order a Buster Call or arrange the deployment of the Mother Flame, and Marines below a set rank were forbidden to look upon him. He wielded a Mythical Zoan fruit, the Gyuki, letting him become a monstrous bull-spider or a towering hybrid; once awakened, he fought with razor-sharp legs, corrosive venom, explosive spit, and an invisible telekinetic force that could wound with a glance. Through his pact with Imu he gained an Abyss for teleportation and an immortality that healed any wound and halted his aging, though Imu could and ultimately did revoke it. He also commanded potent Haki, including the rare Supreme King variety and keen Observation, and carried a flintlock pistol and his cane.
