History

Kamonegi had planned to use his Dance Powder to summon rain and sell the resulting water at a steep markup when times grew dry. Luffy, however, blundered into the sacks of powder, mistook them for something to eat, and after disliking the flavor tossed them into the chimney to burn. A downpour broke out over the hut, sending Kamonegi rushing outside to confront him, and on learning his treasure had been destroyed he cried that his dreams were finished and attacked despite Luffy's apology.

He was no match and ended up thoroughly battered, after which he praised Luffy's strength and begged him to keep the Dance Powder quiet. He tried to explain the powder's role in Arabasta's crisis, but the message went over Luffy's head. As Luffy made to leave, Kamonegi pleaded once more for silence and offered him anything in return, which Luffy parlayed into a meal. Upon discovering Luffy was a pirate who could not report him anyway, Kamonegi protested that being tricked was hardly fair.
