Kanezenny is the elderly farm woman who briefly sheltered a young Nico Robin after the fall of Ohara. Her apparent kindness masked pure greed, and she became the first person ever to betray the hunted child to the World Government.
An old woman with large eyes and a broad, beaming smile, Kanezenny has small ears, a bent nose, a wide chin, and lumpy cheeks. She gathers her long hair into a ponytail and wears a brown jacket over a light purple dress dotted with darker purple spots.
Beneath a warm, understanding front lies a cruel and scheming nature. She played the gentle guardian only to sell Robin out for the bounty, and her temper ran hot and quarrelsome; when the payout was denied she rounded furiously on the very agents she had summoned, demanding her cut for the tip-off.
With an eight-year-old Robin on the run from the World Government after escaping the Ohara Incident, Kanezenny offered the girl a home. Robin labored for her and was repaid with shows of affection, enough that she believed she had finally found somewhere to belong. Then one evening she walked in for dinner to find the old woman had led government agents inside to spring a trap.
Robin slipped away, marking the first betrayal of her life, while Kanezenny stayed behind to harangue the agents for her reward, last seen seizing one by the collar and shrieking. In later years she spread her own account of the encounter, claiming the child had the eyes of a killer.
