His loyalty to Ace runs deep, enough that he stood ready to defend his captain even against an Emperor. He has a cheekier side too, joining the crewmates who snickered at the travel journal Deuce kept, despite how seriously its author took it.
History
Kimel signed on with the Spade Pirates and journeyed with Ace as the young captain built his reputation, helping fend off bounty hunters and closing in on the Marine officer Isuka when she slipped aboard, though she shook them off with ease. After reaching Sabaody, he and the others snuck a look at Deuce's diary and mocked his clumsy writing, which got their names struck from its pages. The crew was later shipwrecked in Wano, where they tangled with the starving folk of Amigasa Village, befriended Tama, and lingered a few weeks.
When Whitebeard challenged the crew, Kimel and his comrades threw themselves at Edward Newgate in their captain's defense and were swiftly beaten, after which they were taken in by the Whitebeard Pirates just as Ace was. He has not been seen since.
