Kingdew

Kingdew is a tall, tanned man with cropped blond hair and sunken cheeks. Long armored blue gauntlets cover his forearms, and a brown cape appears to be pinned straight into his shoulders. He wears black and golden-yellow striped trousers tucked into plain boots, a light blue sash at his waist, and an ornate tattoo on the right of his chest that works in a dark blue rendering of Whitebeard's signature crescent mustache.

Devotion to Whitebeard and the crew defines him. He was ready to throw his own life away in the attempt to pull Ace from execution at Marineford, a measure of how completely he stood behind his captain.

Commanding the 11th division placed a body of subordinates under him, and Jinbe's remark that every Whitebeard commander is formidable points to his own strength. He fights bare-knuckle through a pair of heavy iron gauntlets that make him a dangerous close-range combatant. The anime adds that he dodged a cannonball and held out against multiple Marine officers and an admiral without flagging. Thirty years ago he sailed with the crew when they first reached Wano, witnessing Oden's relentless bid to join and the three-day chain ordeal that finally won the daimyo a place among them. At Marineford he backed Luffy against Kizaru, wept over Ace's death and Whitebeard's sacrifice, and stood ready to face Akainu before the war closed. A year later he disappeared with the surviving crew after their defeat by the Blackbeard Pirates in the Payback War.
