Appearance

Yamanbako is an elderly woman whose long pink hair mirrors her son's. The family resemblance carries through her face as well, from the pale skin and darkened lips to the shadowed crease on her upper lip and a short, stubby nose. She dresses in a frill-collared gown bearing some kind of lettering on the front, fastens dark clips in her hair, and holds up a peace sign with her hands.

Personality

She comes across as an affectionate parent, given how reverently Kumadori writes of her. Yet the fact that she lives while he believes her gone hints at some hidden reason for letting him think otherwise.

History

In her prime, Yamanbako was a formidable assassin who passed every skill she had to her son, steering him toward a life in Cipher Pol before stepping away from the trade herself. Somewhere along the line Kumadori came to believe she had died and began composing poems in her memory, never realizing she was still around.
