Appearance

Kuroobi looks every bit the martial artist, dressed in a dark blue gi tied with a black belt, his hair pulled into a single straight ponytail. The Sun Pirates mark rides on the right of his chest, and whether it conceals a slave brand remains unknown. A decade and a half earlier, during his Sun Pirates years, he wore an afro instead.

Personality

One of the harshest members of the crew, Kuroobi long mistrusted Nami's claimed loyalty to Arlong and even rifled through her room hunting for proof against her. He echoes his captain's hatred of humans yet lacks Arlong's affection for the navigator, regarding her with suspicion and dislike. Genuine strength does earn his respect, and he granted that Sanji surpassed the average human while sneering at him for gambling his life over a single girl. Brutal and merciless, he cut down Genzo for guarding Bell-mere and taunted Sanji as too feeble to protect his friends. He grabs every advantage available in a fight, punching Sanji through a wall while distracted, trying to blindside a weakened Zoro, and hauling Sanji underwater to press his fish-man edge. When Sanji reversed the fight and pummeled him, he was too enraged to see straight, swearing at the cook before collapsing. He also owns a signature laugh, a drawn-out Kuhahahaha.

Abilities

His fish-man heritage lends Kuroobi enormous strength and hide tough enough to deflect bullets, and standing directly under Arlong he commands real sway over the crew. He battles using Fish-Man Karate as a level-forty practitioner, doing serious harm to Sanji, and grows far deadlier once in water. He names Senmaigawara Seiken as his finishing blow, though its true power went unseen because Sanji beat him senseless before he could unleash it. Eight years earlier he fought with a cutlass, the blade he used to slash Genzo across the body.
