Appearance

Tama is a slight, undersized child, her thinness owed partly to her constant lack of food, with the soft rounded features of her age and dark eyes that read as violet in the anime. Her dark-violet hair is styled into a Shimada arrangement, fixed with a yellow comb at the bun and flanked by pale-pink flower kanzashi whose dangling petal strings frame her face.

Her usual outfit is a light-green yukata scattered with simple yellow blossoms and assorted patches, cinched by a yellow bow-tied tsuke obi with trailing tails, a pale-pink obiage, and an orange obijime. She finishes the look with brown-soled zori sandals.

Personality

Warm and quick to bond, Tama trusted Luffy almost the instant he promised her no harm. Her ninja training has left her in the habit of going without food, mentally pushing past her own hunger as a form of discipline. She is strikingly bold for her size, standing up to the Beasts Pirates and even striking one after she broke free, and she places enormous faith in the Kouzuki name, invoking it as a threat against those who cross her.

That same boldness makes her careless at times. She blurted out her Kouzuki loyalty to enemy scouts, drank from a poisoned river and fell sick, and showed off her taming power against her master's warnings. She speaks in a rural, old-fashioned dialect, peppering her speech with country expressions and an archaic word for herself.

Abilities

Tama carries the Kibi Kibi no Mi, a Paramecia fruit that lets her pull tasty dango from her cheeks. Though the treats never ease hunger, any beast that eats one falls completely under her command, defending and obeying her until the effect fades after roughly a month, when the animal may return to the wild or stay on by choice. Humans normally resist the power, but those who have eaten functional SMILEs become part-animal and so are vulnerable.

She turned this gift into a battlefield weapon during the Onigashima raid, having allies distribute her dango to convert numerous Gifters against Kaidou. Shrewd beyond her years, she devised the scheme to lead an amnesiac Big Mom into Udon to free Luffy. Training under Shinobu also built her physical strength, enough to land a real blow on the officer Holed'em, and she vows to one day join the Straw Hats as a proper kunoichi.
