Largo is an anime-original captain at the head of the Amigo Pirates, a crew devoted to snaring and hauling in creatures. He stands as the chief villain of the Little East Blue Arc, hunting a runaway specimen to earn a slot in Shiki's fleet.
Largo presents as a tall man got up like a mariachi, with brown hair, a thin mustache, and a chin and nose both unusually long. A drowsy look rarely leaves his face, and tiny pale green studs sit in his ears. Over an unbuttoned jacket and matching flared pants he throws a purple poncho edged in color, tops it with a wide-brimmed sombrero, ties a light-red foulard at his throat, wears pointed boots, and keeps a guitar either gripped in hand or slung at his back.
Leaning hard into a Mexican caricature, Largo strums his guitar in lament and sprinkles Spanish words such as amor, senor, and senorita through his speech. He nods off into siestas at the most ill-timed moments, and while this aggravates his crew, they dread rousing him, aware of the rage it brings on. Under the sleepy front sits true cruelty, on display when he vowed to wipe out all of Little East Blue unless Boss was handed over. His laughter, a shik-shik-shik, comes out sounding nearly like sobbing.
Even setting his Devil Fruit aside, Largo is a hardy and able combatant, brushing off a joint strike from Sanji and Gear 2 Luffy as if untouched, and nimble enough to slip past Luffy's blazing Gear 2 blows. He sings and plays guitar with skill and can summon his vessel with nothing more than a whistle. His real edge is the Ami Ami no Mi, a Paramecia fruit letting him spin nets from an exceedingly sticky, tough, high-tension substance. By gulping down materials like metal, scalding water, or fire, he lends his nets those traits, and he can even reshape his own body into a net to soak up blunt impacts or cage a victim within himself.
Through the Little East Blue Arc, Largo was promised charge of a 51st division by Shiki on the condition that he capture Boss, a giant beetle escaped from Indigo's making. The crew came ashore where Boss hid, but Largo slipped into one of his siestas, leaving his brother Corto to head the hunt against the islanders and the visiting Straw Hats. Once roused, Largo loosed his net powers and bagged Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji while nearly taking Boss, until Luffy broke loose and dueled him one-on-one along the shore, finishing him by hammering him back into his own vessel with a Gear 3 blow. With the battle lost, the townsfolk locked Largo away beside the rest of his crew.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Largo is an anime-original captain leading the Amigo Pirates, a crew devoted to hunting and hauling in creatures. He serves as the main villain of the Little East Blue Arc while chasing an escaped specimen to earn a place in Shiki's fleet.
Largo has the Ami Ami no Mi, a Paramecia Devil Fruit that lets him spin nets from an extremely sticky, tough substance and even reshape his own body into a net.
In the Little East Blue Arc, Largo is promised command of a 51st division by Shiki if he captures the giant beetle Boss, leading him to clash with the islanders and the Straw Hat Pirates.
Largo was defeated by Luffy in a one-on-one duel along the shore, where Luffy finished him with a Gear 3 blow that hammered him back into his own ship.
Largo leans into a caricature of a sleepy, guitar-strumming performer who peppers his speech with Spanish words, but beneath his drowsy manner lies real cruelty, as shown when he threatened to destroy all of Little East Blue.
