Lily Carnation is the sapient, carnivorous plant that serves as the villain of the film Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. Posing as a cheerful flower on Omatsuri's shoulder, it feeds on living people to reanimate his dead crew.
Lily Carnation existed as two linked parts. A huge tubular structure perched atop a volcano served as a root, lashing out tendrils to haul victims in, yet this was only a construct rather than the creature itself. Its genuine body was a small, deceptively cute blossom riding on Omatsuri's left shoulder, sporting five red-jointed yellow petals, butterfly-like antennae, and a smiling face. When sated it chewed contentedly, but its sadistic streak surfaced as flashing eyes and a sinister grin. Stripped of disguise, its true shape was a grisly tentacled mass studded with the likenesses of the people it had swallowed and a fanged mouth jutting from one limb.
On the surface Lily seemed playful and barely sentient, speaking little and cheering the Straw Hats on when they cleared the island's trials. That mask hid a cruel intelligence that fed on suffering. It conjured the bodies of its victims to torment Luffy and drain his will to fight, and it cackled with glee as Robin was nearly subdued and offered up as its next meal.
Lily's signature power was reanimation, a control over life that let it raise the dead in exchange for human sustenance. The revived sprout a bud on their heads and remain frozen in the moment just before death, unaware they ever died and unable even to perceive Lily. Their durability scales with how well it is fed: when nourished, even Zoro could not cut the reanimated DJ Gappa, but when starved they shrivel, a withering also triggered by forcing them to face the truth of their deaths. The volcano root could spawn dragging tendrils or scatter into a rain of homing arrows, and it shrugged off heavy blows from Luffy and Chopper. The true form, by contrast, was frail and died to a single arrow, though it could project the image of anyone the root had consumed. Lily further manipulated its surroundings, raising a lavish resort over the barren Omatsuri Island and quietly poisoning the minds of visitors so they grew irritable and turned on one another, a mental influence that notably failed against Devil Fruit users like Luffy, Chopper, and Robin.
