Megalo is an enormous shark of Fish-Man Island and the cherished pet of Princess Shirahoshi, once kept by the Neptune Army. Loyal and protective, he is the lone witness to Hody Jones murdering Queen Otohime.
Megalo's body is black above and white along the belly, and he sports a shirt from the Criminal clothing line. Far outsizing an ordinary shark, he runs roughly as large as the Thousand Sunny while still falling short of Neptune. His jaws gape wide enough to fit Shirahoshi inside, though holding her there reportedly puts him under tremendous strain.
For all his fearsome bulk, Megalo is gentle and intensely devoted, going along with Luffy's scheme of hiding Shirahoshi in his mouth to smuggle the princess away from Hard-Shell Tower. He guards the princess fiercely too, snapping at Luffy for upsetting her to tears. He is also a keeper of secrets, confiding the truth about Otohime's killer to Shirahoshi alone and to no one else.
Once a pet of the Neptune Army, Megalo alone watched Hody Jones slay Otohime, yet he kept silent and only later, after becoming Shirahoshi's pet, told the princess in confidence. While away from Ryugu Palace he was seized by the Kraken, and Luffy freed him by accident while battling the beast. Grateful, Megalo informed King Neptune of the pirates and ferried Luffy's group to the palace. He grew strong enough to bear Shirahoshi on his back, breathe out of water, and withstand pressure at depths of ten thousand feet.
When Luffy made Shirahoshi cry, Megalo growled at him, but he soon helped sneak her toward the Sea Forest with her stuffed inside his mouth, bursting through doors and flattening invading pirates along the way. After spitting her out near Coral Hill, the two were briefly accused of kidnapping before Vander Decken IX's arrival shifted the chaos. Carrying the group onward, Megalo reached the Sea Forest, where they met Franky, Den, and Jinbe. Later, with Jinbe and Shirahoshi riding his back and Luffy tucked in his jaws, he set off for Gyoncorde Plaza, only for the New Fish-Man Pirates to snare and bind the trio in a net. There Shirahoshi revealed Hody as Otohime's true assassin, and when the moment came, Megalo spat Luffy free to strike a heavy blow against Hody. He remained through the battle and the celebrations after, then later appeared clinging beside the Neptune Family across the Levely, the Wano period, and Vegapunk's global broadcast.

Megalo is an enormous shark from Fish-Man Island who serves as the beloved pet of Princess Shirahoshi, having previously belonged to the Neptune Army. He is fiercely loyal and protective, and he is the only witness to Hody Jones killing Queen Otohime.
Megalo carried Luffy in his jaws alongside Jinbe and Shirahoshi on his back while traveling to Gyoncorde Plaza, the same trick he used earlier to smuggle Shirahoshi out of Hard-Shell Tower. His mouth is large enough to hold a person, though doing so puts him under great strain.
Megalo is estimated at around 25 meters long, roughly the size of the Thousand Sunny, though he still falls short of Neptune's own massive size.
Megalo's name is derived from Megalodon, the giant prehistoric shark, fitting his identity as an enormous shark on Fish-Man Island.
Megalo alone witnessed Hody Jones kill Queen Otohime, but he kept the truth silent for years, only confiding it to Shirahoshi after he became her pet.
