Monster

Monster is a hefty monkey with tiny eyes and a knot of fur bound up on top of his head. Most of him is brown, though white covers his belly, his face, and his hands. Twelve years before the present he was a smaller creature, his eyes beadier and his head free of any topknot.

A cheerful, fun-loving streak runs through him, on display as he reveled with Shanks and the crew. Aboard Shanks' crew, he is most often spotted draped across the shoulders of his partner Bonk Punch.

For all that he is a monkey, Monster sits above the lower ranks of the crew and is bright enough to follow human speech. His fighting works in tandem with Bonk Punch: he handles the weaker foes while his partner stores up power for the dangerous ones. He first turned up celebrating at Partys Bar after a young Luffy drove a blade into his own eye, then later appeared at Marineford with Bonk Punch, prepared to step into the Summit War if the clash dragged on. Following the timeskip he was glimpsed alongside his crewmates amid a particular island's ruins, and during the Wano era he cheered Luffy's ascent to the Four Emperors. In the non-canon Film: Red he attended Uta's concert on Elegia. Through the final saga he rode along when the crew set Marco ashore at Sphinx, feasted at Elbaph beside the Giants, looked on as Shanks single-handedly crushed the Kid Pirates, and sailed with the crew when they reached Gartel Island to settle their score over the burned flag with Bartolomeo's Barto Club.
